Although performing car maintenance can seem intimidating, you can advance in the field by beginning small and gaining confidence. Here are a few things you can do on your own.
You might start by changing your wiper blades. Check to see if your blades wipe clean by pressing the washing button. They must be replaced if they streak. Installation guidelines will be printed on the packaging. Once the old blade has been removed, make sure to hold onto the wiper arm. It might chip or break the windscreen if it veers off and strikes it.
Another one is to inspect and replace the engine air filter. Remove the old filter by unscrewing or unclipping the air filter box retainers. Hold a light behind the filter to check it; if the filter blocks 50% or more of the light, it has to be replaced.
